Drakkar Noir is an Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men, launched in 1982 by Guy Laroche. The fragrance was created by Pierre Wargnye who put together top notes of Lavender, Lemon, Mint, Bergamot, Rosemary, Lemon Verbena, Basil and Artemisia; middle notes of Juniper, Coriander, Wormwood, Cinnamon, Angelica, Carnation and Jasmine; and top notes of Oakmoss, Leather, Fir, Pine Tree Needles, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Patchouli, Cedar, Amber and Resins. Soon after its launch it became one of the most popular fragrances of the time, especially with club going men, thanks to its combination of masculinity, cleanliness and spicy aromatic qualities. Now, around 40 years on, its still popular and still has a scent that is suitable all year round.
